LS Performance Features

Find the feature you are looking for in one comprehensive list.

The LS features the world’s first eight-speed automatic transmission.

An aggressive electronic braking system includes electronic parking brake, a brake hold feature and available high-friction front brakes [1].

The LS is powered by a 4.6-liter engine that provides up to a remarkable 380 horsepower [2] and 367 lb-ft of torque (RWD models) [2].

All new for 2009, the LS all-wheel drive models provide improved traction and control.

The available Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS) adjusts the steering ratio based on the vehicle’s speed.

Gasoline is injected directly into the engine’s combustion chamber for better power and improved mileage.

The engine’s valve timing is continuously adjusted to provide optimum power at any speed.

The available Adaptive Variable Air Suspension (AVS) allows you to determine the feel of your ride by selecting either Comfort, Normal or Sport mode.

By replacing an engine-driven pump with an electronic one, steering is smoother and more efficient.

[1]High-friction brakes are standard equipment for the front brakes only and require periodic inspection and measurement as outlined in the Warranty and Services Guide. The pads and rotors are expected to experience greater wear than conventional brakes. Pad life may be less than 20,000 miles, and brake rotor life may be less than 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions. [2]Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease. Back to top
